Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) Use store-bought for speed.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter For a dairy-free version, swap with plant-based spread.

For Serving

  • 1 serving cream cheese dip For a kid-friendly dessert.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Unfold the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll it gently to smooth seams.
  • Cut the sheet into strips about 1-inch to 1.5-inch wide.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.

Assembly

  • Brush each pastry strip lightly with the melted butter, making sure edges are sealed.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar evenly over the buttered side.
  • Hold each strip at both ends and twist several times to create a rope.
  • Place each twist in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space for air circulation.

Cooking

  • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, checking at 8 minutes.
  • Turn once if your air fryer has hot spots. They should be puffed, golden-brown, and crisp.
  • Remove carefully and serve warm with cream cheese dip.

Notes

For best results, work in small batches so the twists don’t overlap; puff pastry needs space to rise. Store leftover twists in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
