Ingredients

For the Pretzels

  • 12-16 oz plain pretzels (sticks, twists, nuggets) About one standard bag
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle juice Use from a jar of pickles or bottled pickle juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral oil like avocado Adjust based on preference
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill Or 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment for easy cleanup.
  • In a large bowl, combine the dill pickle juice, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried dill. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the pretzels to the bowl. Toss gently but thoroughly so each piece is lightly coated. Work quickly so they don’t sit wet for too long.
  • Spread the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding — use two sheets if necessary.

Baking

  • Bake for 10–15 minutes, checking at 10 minutes for light golden color and toasty aroma, but not brown or burnt.
  • Remove from the oven and let the pretzels cool completely on the sheet to allow them to crisp up. Transfer to a bowl and serve.

Notes

For extra tang, increase pickle juice to 1/3 cup but cut oil to 1 tablespoon to prevent sogginess. Gluten-free options available with certified gluten-free pretzels. Serving recommendations include pairing with alcohol-free beer or a trio of dips.
