  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for moist texture)

For the Topping

  • 1 cup buttercream frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • to taste red food coloring
  • to taste chocolate syrup (for splatter effect)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into cupcake liners in a muffin tin, filling them about two-thirds full.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.

Frosting and Decoration

  • In a separate bowl, mix red food coloring into the buttercream frosting until desired color is achieved.
  • Frost the cooled cupcakes, leaving some space on top.
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup over the frosting for the blood splatter effect.

Notes
