Ingredients

For the banana chips

  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Firm ripe with brown speckles is best.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Or coconut sugar for less-refined sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon neutral oil Vegetable, avocado, or light olive oil, or cooking spray.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
  • Slice the bananas into thin, even rounds — about 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick.
  • Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and stir until uniform.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it with a little oil.
  • Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the basket, avoiding overlap.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar evenly on top.

Cooking

  • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping the chips gently halfway through.
  • Watch from minute 12 onward; thinner slices and riper bananas will crisp faster.

Cooling

  • Transfer the chips to a cooling rack or parchment-lined tray and let them cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled chips in an airtight container with a paper towel for up to 2-3 days. Revive crispness by air frying at 300°F (150°C) for 3-5 minutes.
