Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 oz packet ranch dressing mix approximately
  • 1 oz packet brown gravy mix (not country-style, which has more carbs) approximately
  • 1 cup chicken broth or substitute low-sodium broth or water
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil optional; helps richness and can be used to sear breasts

Instructions

Preparation

  • Arrange the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot in a single layer.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing mix, gravy mix, and chicken broth until dissolved.
  • Pour the seasoned broth evenly over the chicken breasts.
  • Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper over the top to taste.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture if you’re using it.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve the chicken whole or shred it in the sauce, spooning extra gravy over cauliflower mash or steamed green beans.

Notes

Use thighs instead of breasts for more forgiving cooking. For gluten-free, swap out the seasoning packets. Store leftovers within 2 hours in airtight containers.
