Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, thawed, deveined, peeled Use the freshest shrimp possible.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil To coat the shrimp.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter For rich flavor.
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced Adds aroma and taste.
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley Garnish for flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, coat the shrimp with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Cooking

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic, cooking for about one minute, or until it becomes fragrant.
  • Place the shrimp into the skillet and cook for only two minutes before tossing them. Continue cooking for an additional three minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink and reaches an internal temperature of 120°F.
  • Sprinkle the garlic butter shrimp with fresh parsley before serving. For an extra touch, consider squeezing fresh lemon juice on top for added brightness.

Notes

Store any unused garlic butter shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Freeze within a day of cooking in a freezer-safe container. Reheat gently on low heat to avoid toughening the shrimp.
