Homemade Cherry Lemonade

Ingredients
  

For the lemonade

  • 2 cups sweet cherries, pitted and halved Fresh sweet cherries are recommended for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice Freshly squeezed is preferred for superior taste.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust to taste; alternatives include honey or agave syrup.
  • 4 cups water Used to dilute the lemon-cherry mixture.

Preparation

  • Combine the pitted cherries and half of the water in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the cherry mixture into a pitcher, pressing to extract as much juice as possible.
  • Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, and the remaining water. Mix well until the sugar has fully dissolved.
  • Serve the cherry lemonade over ice and garnish with lemon slices and additional cherries, if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays to create cherry-flavored ice cubes for future drinks. Adding sparkling water before serving can enhance the refreshment.
