  • 1 box Cupcake Mix Choose your favorite brand.
  • 2 large Eggs Refer to package instructions for specific details.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Should be softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk or whatever is available.

For the Spooky Decoration

  • 12 cookies Oreo Cookies The main feature of the cupcakes.
  • 1 tube Black Icing or Chocolate Sauce Used for frosting and decoration.
  • 12 pieces Candy Eyeballs To make the cupcakes spooky.
  • 1 pack Chocolate Licorice or Black String Candy For spider legs.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to the cupcake mix instructions.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cupcake mix, eggs, softened butter, and milk until well combined and smooth.
  • Pour the batter into cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  • Bake according to the cupcake mix instructions.
  • Let the cupcakes cool completely before decorating.

Decoration

  • Frost the cooled cupcakes with black icing or chocolate sauce.
  • Place an Oreo cookie on top of each frosted cupcake to serve as the spider's body.
  • Cut chocolate licorice or black string candy into legs and attach them around the Oreo.
  • Use candy eyeballs to give each spider some character, attaching them with a dot of icing.

Notes

Store leftover cupcakes in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. They freeze well; just thaw in the fridge when ready to enjoy. For easier decorating, consider using pre-made frosting.
