Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless chicken breasts Butterfly or pound slightly for even thickness.
  • 4 strips turkey bacon Regular or thick-cut.
  • 4 slices cheese Cheddar is classic; pepper jack for heat, Swiss for milder flavor.
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 2 pieces sandwich buns Brioche or potato rolls add richness.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Lettuce and tomato For garnish (optional).
  • Olive oil For grilling or a neutral oil with high smoke point.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the grates or skillet.
  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Lightly brush each with olive oil.

Cooking

  • Place chicken on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 6–7 minutes per side until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • In the last minute of the chicken cooking time, add the turkey bacon strips on the grill or in a separate pan. Cook until crisp, turning as needed.
  • As soon as the chicken is nearly done, top each breast with two cheese slices. Cover the grill or place a lid over the skillet to melt the cheese (about 30–60 seconds).

Assembly

  • Toast the buns briefly on the grill if desired. Spread ranch dressing on both bun halves.
  • Build the sandwich: bottom bun, cheese-topped chicken, two turkey bacon strips, lettuce and tomato if using, and top bun. Serve immediately.

Notes

This sandwich is kid-friendly. For a lighter option, swap the tomato for pickles or extra cheese. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
