Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cans (12-oz) Sprite, chilled (another lemon-lime soda)
  • 1/4 cup grenadine syrup
  • as needed Maraschino cherries, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Chill your cans of Sprite thoroughly before starting — colder soda freezes faster and produces a smoother slush.
  • Open the Ninja Slushi machine and pour all three cans of cold Sprite into the reservoir.
  • Add 1/4 cup grenadine syrup directly into the soda. Pour slowly so it mixes evenly.
  • Close the machine and turn on the slushi/churn cycle according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  • Watch the texture. When the mixture reaches a soft-serve slush consistency, stop the machine (typically takes 10-20 minutes).
  • Spoon or pour the slush into chilled glasses. Top each with a maraschino cherry and a straw. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a different twist, substitute diet Sprite or a sugar-free lemon-lime soda to reduce calories. If you don’t have grenadine, pomegranate juice + simple syrup (2:1 ratio) is a decent substitute.
