Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark) Use higher-quality chips for better flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or double cream) For dairy-free version, replace with full-fat coconut cream.

  • 1 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for garnish Optional.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pour the heavy cream into a small saucepan and warm over medium heat, watching closely for small bubbles at the edge and steam rising.
  • Remove from heat as soon as the cream starts to simmer.
  • Add the chocolate chips to the hot cream and let sit for 30–45 seconds to soften.
  • Stir gently with a whisk or spatula until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Whisk in the sugar and vanilla until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture among serving cups or ramekins.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set and chilled.
  • Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings, a dusting of cocoa, or sprinkles.

Notes

Serve chilled. For an elegant presentation, add a dollop of lightly whipped cream and fresh raspberries or sprinkle with flaky sea salt. This dessert is safe to serve as it contains no raw eggs.
