Ingredients

For the base

  • 2 cups Cool Whip (or similar frozen whipped topping)
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)

For the salad

  • 4 pieces Snickers candy bars, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 pieces tart green apples, cored and chopped (Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional) Optional for added sweetness
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional; pecans or walnuts work well) Optional for crunch

Instructions

Preparation

  • Chill your mixing bowl and utensils briefly if your kitchen is warm; this keeps the Cool Whip from getting too soft.
  • In a large bowl, spoon in 2 cups of Cool Whip. Sprinkle the instant vanilla pudding mix over the top.
  • Fold the pudding mix into the Cool Whip with a spatula until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
  • Add the chopped Snickers pieces and fold them in so they’re distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Fold in the chopped apples. If you like, add the mini marshmallows and chopped nuts at this stage.
  • Give everything one final gentle stir until uniform.
  • Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up and let flavors meld.
  • Serve chilled as a dessert or a sweet side dish.

Notes

For presentation, garnish with a few reserved Snickers pieces and a light drizzle of caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 72 hours.
