  • 1 block 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese (softened) room temperature for easiest mixing
  • 1 cup 1 cup powdered sugar for classic cheesecake sweetness
  • 1 container 1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping (thawed) stabilizes the dip; use fresh whipped cream if preferred
  • 1 cup 1 cup chopped pecans (divided) ¾ cup folded in, ¼ cup for topping; walnuts can substitute
  • 1 cup 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided) mini chips work best for even distribution
  • ⅓ cup 1/3 cup caramel dip use store-bought or warmed dulce de leche
  • ⅓ cup 1/3 cup chocolate syrup for contrast and visual appeal

Instructions

Preparation

  • Soften the cream cheese on the counter about 30–60 minutes before starting.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and lump-free.
  • Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until evenly mixed and fluffy.
  • Stir in ¾ cup chopped pecans and ¾ cup chocolate chips until distributed.
  • Transfer the dip to a 9-inch pie plate, spreading into an even layer with a spatula.
  • Microwave the caramel dip for 8–12 seconds to loosen it slightly, then drizzle it over the dip.
  • Add chocolate syrup in a thin zigzag over the caramel.
  • Scatter the remaining pecans and chocolate chips across the surface for garnish.
  • Serve right away or refrigerate for 30–60 minutes for a firmer dip.

Notes

If you need this to be nut-free, omit pecans and substitute with crushed pretzels or toasted coconut for texture. Best served with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, apple slices, or sliced pears.
